Datasheets
  • beta-catenin Antibody (B-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 κ, cited in 17 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 755-781 at the C-terminus of β-catenin of human origin
  • recommended for detection of β-catenin of mouse, rat, human and origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA; also reactive with additional species, including and equine, canine, bovine, porcine and avian
  • See beta-catenin (E-5): sc-7963 for beta-catenin antibody conjugates, including AC, HRP, FITC, PE, Alexa Fluor® 488, 594, 647, 680 and 790.
  • m-IgG3 BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for beta-catenin Antibody (B-9) for WB and IHC(P) applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with beta-catenin Antibody (B-9) (see ordering information below).

SEE ALSO...

β-catenin Antibody (B-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody engineered to detect β-catenin, also known as CTNNB1, a critical protein involved in cellular adhesion and the regulation of gene transcription. β-catenin plays an essential role in the formation and stabilization of adherens junctions by binding to the intracellular cytoplasmic tail of cadherins, such as E-cadherin, thereby maintaining tissue architecture and integrity. Additionally, β-catenin is a key component of the Wnt signaling pathway, where β-catenin interacts with transcription factors to control cell proliferation, differentiation, and migration, processes that are vital for normal development and are frequently disrupted in various cancers. β-catenin monoclonal antibody (B-9) targets a specific epitope located between amino acids 755-781 at the C-terminus of human β-catenin, ensuring precise and reliable detection. Anti-β-catenin antibody (B-9) demonstrates broad species reactivity, effectively recognizing β-catenin from mouse, rat, human, and avian origins, as well as additional species including equine, canine, bovine, and porcine. β-catenin monoclonal antibody (B-9) is validated for multiple applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), making β-catenin monoclonal antibody (B-9) a versatile tool for diverse research needs. By facilitating the exploration of β-catenin′s dual roles in cell adhesion and signaling pathways, anti-β-catenin antibody (B-9) is indispensable for researchers studying the molecular mechanisms underlying cellular communication, development, and oncogenesis.

I am using this β-catenin antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue sections. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody, and if so, which kind?

Asked by: TinTin
Yes, we do recommend doing antigen retrieval. We recommend using sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) with heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
