BDV Antibody (VPM22) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects the BDV protein of NSR and Pestiviruses origin by immunoprecipitation (IP) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-BDV antibody (VPM22) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Pestiviruses, including Border disease virus (BDV), are enveloped single-stranded RNA viruses that play a significant role in veterinary medicine due to their impact on livestock health. BDV is particularly notorious for causing congenital diseases in sheep, with its two forms—cytopathic (CP) and non-cytopathic (NCP)—resulting in different pathological outcomes. The NCP form is especially concerning during the first half of gestation, as this variant can lead to severe syndromes such as early embryonic death, abortion, stillbirth, and the birth of lambs with malformations or reduced vitality. Understanding the structure of BDV protein is crucial, as this component influences viral evasion of host immune response and establishment of infection. BDV protein′s envelope glycoproteins play a key role in receptor binding and fusion, which are essential for viral entry into host cells. Using BDV (VPM22) monoclonal antibody in research helps scientists gain insights into the mechanisms of BDV pathogenesis and develop strategies for disease control and prevention in affected livestock populations.
