SEE ALSO...

Bcr Antibody (G6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody, specifically raised against a synthetic peptide derived from the amino acid sequence of the human Bcr (Breakpoint Cluster Region) protein. The Bcr protein, also known as Breakpoint Cluster Region protein, is primarily localized in the cytoplasm where it functions as a GTPase-activating protein (GAP) for the Rac1 p21 GTPase, playing a critical role in regulating cytoskeletal organization, cell migration, and proliferation. Located on chromosome 22, the Bcr gene is famously involved in the formation of the Philadelphia chromosome through a translocation with the c-Abl proto-oncogene on chromosome 9, a genetic event present in approximately 90-95% of chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) cases. This translocation results in the production of Bcr/Abl fusion proteins, specifically p190 and p210, which possess constitutive tyrosine kinase activity that drives the uncontrolled growth of leukemic cells. Understanding the cellular localization and function of Bcr is essential for elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying CML and for the development of targeted therapies. Bcr mouse monoclonal antibody (G6) effectively detects both Bcr/Abl p190 and p210 fusion proteins in mouse, rat, and human samples and is compatible with a variety of applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin embedded sections (IHCP). Additionally, Bcr (G6) antibody is available in multiple conjugated forms such as agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and various Alexa Fluor® derivatives, providing flexibility for diverse experimental needs.
