Datasheets
  • Bcl-xS/L Antibody (2H12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a κ Bcl-xS/L antibody, cited in 11 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • raised against an N-terminal peptide (amino acids 3-14) common to human and mouse Bcl-xL and Bcl-xS
  • recommended for detection of Bcl-xL and Bcl-xs of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and IHC(P)
  • See Bcl-xL (H-5): sc-8392 for Bcl-xS/L antibody conjugates, including AC, HRP, FITC, PE, Alexa Fluor® 488, 594, 647, 680 and 790.
  • m-IgG Fc BP-HRP and m-IgG2a BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for Bcl-xS/L Antibody (2H12) for WB and IHC(P) applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with Bcl-xS/L Antibody (2H12) (see ordering information below).

SEE ALSO...

Bcl-xS/L Antibody (2H12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Bcl-xS/L protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-Bcl-xS/L antibody (2H12) is available as the non-conjugated form. Bcl-xS/L protein plays a crucial role in regulating apoptosis, a process of programmed cell death essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and development. Bcl-xS is a shorter isoform of Bcl-xL, which inhibits apoptosis, while Bcl-xS acts as a dominant negative regulator, promoting cell death by antagonizing the protective effects of Bcl-xL and Bcl-2. This balance between pro-apoptotic and anti-apoptotic proteins is vital for normal cellular function, and dysregulation can lead to various diseases, including cancer. Bcl-xS interactions with other members of the Bcl-2 family, such as Bax and Bad, further underscore Bcl-xS importance in the apoptotic pathway, as these interactions can determine cell fate in response to stress signals. Using Bcl-xS/L (2H12) antibody in research can provide valuable insights into apoptosis mechanisms and Bcl-xS/L role in various biological processes and disease states.

What blocking solution should I use with Bcl-xS/L (2H12): sc-23958 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking with Blotto (either TBS Blotto A: sc-2333 or TBS Blotto B: sc-2335). Our Western blot protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
