Bcl-G Antibody (E-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Bcl-G protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Bcl-G monoclonal antibody (E-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Bcl-G, also known as BCL2L14 or BCLG, is a 327 amino acid cytoplasmic protein that plays a crucial role in regulating apoptosis, a process essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and eliminating damaged or unwanted cells. Bcl-G belongs to the Bcl-2 family, known for involvement in apoptotic signaling pathways. Bcl-G is expressed in three alternatively spliced isoforms: short, medium, and long, with the short isoform being testis-specific and localized to cytosolic organelles, while the long isoform is more widely distributed throughout the cytosol. Bcl-G′s ability to induce apoptosis upon overexpression highlights a potential role in tumor suppression, making Bcl-G a significant target for research in cancer biology. Understanding Bcl-G function and regulation is vital for developing therapeutic strategies aimed at modulating apoptosis in various diseases.
