BBS7 Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects BBS7 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BBS7 (E-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. BBS7 plays a crucial role in the assembly and function of cilia, which are essential for various cellular processes, including signaling pathways and cellular motility. Dysfunction in cilia can lead to a range of disorders, collectively known as ciliopathies, which include Bardet-Biedl syndrome (BBS). BBS is a complex genetic disorder characterized by symptoms such as obesity, photoreceptor degeneration, polydactyly, hypogenitalism, renal abnormalities, and developmental delays. Patients with BBS are also at an increased risk for developing diabetes, hypertension, and congenital heart defects. BBS7, consisting of 672 amino acids, is expressed at low to moderate levels across most human tissues and is one of the eight proteins encoded by the BBS genes, which are mapped to eight genetic loci. Understanding BBS7 and its role in ciliary function is vital for elucidating the underlying mechanisms of BBS and developing potential therapeutic strategies.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-390403 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
