BBS3 Antibody (C-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects BBS3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BBS3 Antibody (C-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. BBS3 protein plays a crucial role in the function of cilia, which are essential for various cellular processes, including signaling pathways and maintenance of cellular homeostasis. Dysfunction in cilia can lead to a range of disorders, collectively known as ciliopathies, which include Bardet-Biedl syndrome (BBS). BBS is a complex genetic disorder characterized by symptoms such as obesity, photoreceptor degeneration, polydactyly, hypogenitalism, renal abnormalities, and developmental delays. BBS3 gene is implicated in the pathogenesis of BBS due to mutations that disrupt normal function, leading to characteristic clinical features of the syndrome. Understanding BBS3′s role in ciliary function is vital for developing targeted therapies and interventions for individuals affected by BBS and related ciliopathies.
