    SEE ALSO...

BAT2L Antibody (D-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects BAT2L of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BAT2L Antibody (D-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. BAT2L, also known as HLA-B-associated transcript 2-like 1 or KIAA0515, is a 1,535 amino acid protein that exists in four isoforms due to alternative splicing. BAT2L plays a crucial role in the immune response by influencing the expression of major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules, which are essential for the presentation of antigens to T cells. Proper functioning of BAT2L is vital for effective immune surveillance and response, as BAT2L helps distinguish between self and non-self, thereby preventing autoimmune reactions and enhancing the ability to combat infections. The gene encoding BAT2L is located on human chromosome 9, a region significant for gender determination and association with various genetic disorders, including hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia and familial dysautonomia. Understanding BAT2L function and importance can provide insights into potential implications in immunological research and therapeutic applications.

Does the antibody recognize the full length PRR2C (BAT2L) form by WB? In the image shown above there is a ca 40 KDa band, likely representing an overespressed truncated form of the protein.

    Asked by: Luca
Thank you for your question. BAT2L Antibody (D-2): sc-393604 is specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 2102-2139 within an internal region of BAT2L of human origin. It recognizes both protein fragments containing this sequence range, as well as full-length protein. The western blot image on the product page shows cells transfected with fusion protein consisting of the immunogenic peptide sequence and a tag.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-393604 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
