SEE ALSO...

Barx1 Antibody (392.8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Barx1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Barx1 antibody (392.8) is available as the non-conjugated form. The BAR homeobox (Barx) family, which includes Barx1 and Barx2, plays a crucial role in regulating place-dependent morphogenesis and controlling the expression patterns of cell adhesion molecules. Barx1, a 226-amino acid nuclear protein, is predominantly expressed in the testis, heart, and craniofacial tissues, where Barx1 functions as a homeodomain transcription factor essential for odontogenesis, craniofacial development, and stomach organogenesis. Notably, Barx1 is involved in the regulation of mesenchymal cell expression of two secreted Wnt antagonists, sFRP1 and sFRP2, which are vital for the development of the gastric endoderm prior to epithelial differentiation. During the early stages of molar development, Barx1 directs undetermined ectomesenchymal cells in the proximal region of the jaws to follow the pathway of multicuspid tooth development. Additionally, Barx1 expression is stimulated by fibroblast growth factor-8 (FGF8) while being inhibited by bone morphogenetic protein-4 (BMP4), highlighting Barx1′s intricate role in developmental signaling pathways.

I am using Barx1 (392.8): sc-81956 for immunofluorescence, what dilution of this antibody should I use?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. We recommend a starting dilution of 1:50. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunofluorescence protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
