B7-2 Antibody (GL1) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects B7-2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). B7-2, also known as CD86, plays a crucial role in the immune response by acting as a costimulatory molecule on antigen-presenting cells, where B7-2 binds to CD28 and CTLA-4 on T cells, thereby enhancing T cell activation and proliferation. This interaction is vital for the effective activation of T cells, which are essential for adaptive immunity. The structure of B7-2 is characterized by immunoglobulin-like domains, which facilitate binding to T cell receptors, and B7-2 expression is tightly regulated during immune responses. Understanding the structural features of B7-2 is important because alterations in B7-2 expression or function can lead to immune dysregulation, contributing to various autoimmune diseases and affecting the efficacy of immunotherapies. Anti-B7-2 antibody (GL1) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying T cell activation and the intricate signaling pathways involved in immune responses.

Is a positive control for the sc-52448 ab available? Just to test if the staining procedure works?

Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question. Recommended positive controls are B7-2 (m): 293T Lysate: sc-118657, RAW 264.7 whole cell lysate: sc-2211 or mouse spleen extract: sc-2391.

How can B7-2 (GL1): sc-52448 mouse monoclonal antibody be used for double or triple staining, if the other primary antibodies are also raised in mouse?

Asked by: cjMara
In this case, we recommend using a directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibody. This antibody is available conjugated to phycoerythrin (sc-52448 PE) or fluoroscein (sc-52448 FITC).
