B23 Antibody (0412) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects B23 (also known as nucleophosmin) of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). B23 (0412) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. B23 plays a crucial role in ribosomal assembly and ribosomal RNA transport, essential processes for protein synthesis and cellular function. B23 is predominantly located in the nucleolus, where B23 is involved in ribosomal subunit maturation, and proper localization is vital for maintaining efficient ribosome biogenesis. B23 is highly phosphorylated by Cdc2 kinase during mitosis, suggesting phosphorylation state may regulate function and interactions during cell division. Transport of proteins across the nuclear envelope is a selective, multi-step process requiring recognition of import substrates and docking at the nuclear pore complex, with B23 being a key player in this intricate mechanism.

I am using B23 (0412): sc-47725 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: jerojero
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
