SEE ALSO...

Axl Antibody (H-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Axl protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Axl antibody (H-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Axl, a member of the UFO family of receptor tyrosine kinases, plays a crucial role in cell signaling pathways that regulate cell survival, proliferation, and migration, making Axl significant in various physiological and pathological processes, including cancer progression and immune response. Axl is predominantly expressed in heart and skeletal muscle, where Axl is involved in the regulation of muscle cell differentiation and survival. Additionally, Axl interacts with ligands such as Gas6 and Protein S, which are essential for mediating signaling functions. Axl′s ability to modulate these pathways highlights Axl′s importance in both normal cellular functions and disease states, particularly in the context of tumor biology and immune modulation.

Does this antibody also recognize mouse Axl? Thanks

Asked by: Iker
Thank you for your question. We have not confirmed experimentally that this monoclonal, Axl Antibody (H-3): sc-166269, is reactive with mouse Axl. The antibody is raised against amino acids 771-894 of Axl of human origin, and the sequence shares 87% identity with mouse Axl. Thus, there is a good chance that the antibody would work for mouse. For a limited time, we are offering a free 10 µg sample of this antibody. Please contact our Technical Service Department if you would like to receive a sample for testing in your research. Please call us toll-free at (800) 457-3801 option 2, e-mail scbt@scbt.com, or use the live chat on our website.

What is the recommended starting dilution for Western blot for Axl (H-3): sc-166269 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your question. The recommended starting dilution for Western blot is 1:100 with a dilution range of 1:100-1:1000. This information, along with other technical specifications, can be found in our recommended Western blot protocol, which you can find here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/sv/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting

Rated 1 out of 5 by from PostdocI have got the sample size of the antibody. Its did not work well compare to H-124 antibody. using H-124 antibody, I have got the specific intense band with in 1min exposure. But H-3 antibody is hard to detect specific band after 20 min of exposure.
