    SEE ALSO...

AspRS Antibody (D-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects AspRS (mitochondrial aspartyl-tRNA synthetase) in human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). AspRS is a crucial 645 amino acid protein belonging to the class-II aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase family, primarily localized in the mitochondrial matrix where AspRS functions as a homodimer to aminoacylate tRNA, a vital process for protein synthesis. AspRS contains a 47 amino acid mitochondrial targeting signal, which is essential for proper localization and function within the mitochondria, as well as several conserved residues that are critical for ATP binding, tRNA binding, and the recognition of aspartic acid. The gene encoding AspRS is located on chromosome 1q25.1, and mutations in this gene can lead to leukoencephalopathy with brain stem and spinal cord involvement and lactate elevation (LBSL), an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by symptoms such as cerebellar ataxia, spasticity, and dorsal column dysfunction, which may also include mild cognitive deficits. Anti-AspRS antibody (D-4) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying mitochondrial function and related pathologies, providing insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying these critical biological processes.

Can AspRS (D-4): sc-166534 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your question. Yes, AspRS (D-4): sc-166534 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
