    SEE ALSO...

ARSA Antibody (7A) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects ARSA in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ARSA, or arylsulfatase A, plays a crucial role in the hydrolysis of sulfate esters, which is essential for the degradation of sulfatides in the lysosome. This function is particularly important as ARSA helps maintain lipid metabolism and myelin sheath integrity in the nervous system. Deficiencies in ARSA can lead to the accumulation of sulfatides, resulting in disorders such as metachromatic leukodystrophy, a severe neurodegenerative condition. Anti-ARSA antibody (7A) provides reliable detection and quantification of ARSA, facilitating research into cellular processes and disease implications. With recognition of the active homodimer form of ARSA, which contains four nucleotide binding sites, ARSA (7A) monoclonal antibody serves as an invaluable tool for scientists studying the mechanisms of anion transport and ATPase activity in various biological contexts.

Can sc-100676: ARSA (7A) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-100676: ARSA (7A) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
