SEE ALSO...

Arginase 1 Antibody (8C9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody designed to detect both Arginase 1 and Arginase 2 across mouse, rat, and human species using western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP) techniques. Arginase 1 monoclonal antibody (8C9) is raised against recombinant human type I arginase, ensuring robust binding to the target protein. Arginase 1, also called ARG1, AI, Arg-1, and PGIF, is a crucial enzyme primarily expressed in the liver, where Arginase 1 plays a vital role in the urea cycle by catalyzing the hydrolysis of arginine into ornithine and urea, thereby facilitating the removal of excess nitrogen from the body. Structurally, Arginase 1 functions as a homotrimeric protein and contains a binuclear manganese cluster essential for enzymatic activity. Understanding Arginase 1 function is important as Arginase 1 not only regulates amino acid metabolism but also influences various physiological and pathological processes, including wound healing, immune response, and cancer progression. Additionally, Arginase 2, which shares the same catalytic activity but differs in tissue distribution and subcellular localization, is predominantly found in the mitochondria of non-hepatic tissues such as the kidneys. Anti-Arginase 1 antibody (8C9) detection of both isoforms across multiple species makes this antibody an invaluable tool for researchers studying metabolic pathways, enzyme regulation, and disease mechanisms related to arginine metabolism.

Hi, we used this Ab for rat lung homogenates. We are planning to do immunohistochemistry analyses to study protein location in the fetal lungs. Any experience of the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry experiments in parafin-embeded tissue?

Asked by: pcasane
Thank you for your question. The arginase I (8C9): sc-47715 antibody is not currently recommended for immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections, or for IHC(P). Instead, we would recommend an alternative, arginase I Antibody (E-2): sc-271430, which is recommended and warrantied for this application.

Dear Sir/Madam, Please kindly let me know of the recommended HRP conjugated goat vs mouse 2nd antibody for this SC-47715. Is SC-47715 a IgG1 kappa or lambda? I used to use SC-2005 with this. Many thanks.

Asked by: Stephen K
Thank you for your question. We would recommend using the mouse IgG kappa binding protein, sc-516102 with this primary antibody, sc-47715. You can find more information about it here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/product/m-igg-kappa-bp-hrp?requestFrom=search If you have any further questions, please contact Technical Service by phone, (800)-457-3801 option 2, email <scbt@scbt.com>, or by live chat directly on our website, www.scbt.com.

Is this antibody available directly conjugated to HRP?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your question. All requests for directly conjugated versions of this antibody should be directed to our Special Orders team at specialorders@scbt.com Alternatively, consider using arginase I (C-2): sc-166920 for arginase I antibody conjugates, including AC, HRP, FITC, PE, Alexa Fluor® 488 and Alexa Fluor® 647.
