ARG-Vasopressin Antibody (VAS 10-2-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects ARG-Vasopressin protein of human origin by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ARG-Vasopressin antibody (VAS 10-2-2) is available as a non-conjugated monoclonal isotype antibody. ARG-Vasopressin plays a crucial role as an antidiuretic hormone, primarily involved in regulating body fluid homeostasis, which is vital for maintaining blood pressure and overall fluid balance in the body. ARG-Vasopressin is synthesized in the hypothalamus and stored in the posterior pituitary gland, where release into the bloodstream occurs in response to changes in osmotic pressure. Precise regulation of ARG-Vasopressin is essential, as excessive secretion can lead to increased mean arterial pressure and systemic vascular resistance, potentially resulting in cardiovascular complications. ARG-Vasopressin has been implicated in various pathological conditions, including certain cancers, where ARG-Vasopressin may function as an autocrine growth factor, promoting tumor growth through pathways such as ERK1/2 activation. ARG-Vasopressin presence at both cell surface and in secreted forms in cancer cell lines like Skbr3 and Mcf7 highlights significance in cancer biology. Additionally, antidiuretic action of ARG-Vasopressin is mediated through Vasopressin V2 receptor, which is critical for water retention and can influence conditions such as migraines by promoting antinociception. These multifaceted roles of ARG-Vasopressin underscore importance as a therapeutic target in both acute and chronic heart failure, making ARG-Vasopressin (VAS 10-2-2) monoclonal antibody an invaluable tool for research and clinical applications.
