    SEE ALSO...

ARD Antibody (H-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects ARD protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ARD antibody (H-3) is available as the non-conjugated form. ARD protein, also known as acireductone dioxygenase, ADI1, APL1, SIPL, SIP-L, or MTCBP1, consists of 179 amino acids and is primarily localized in the nucleus and cytoplasmic side of the cell membrane. This localization enables ARD protein to play a pivotal role in cellular metabolism, particularly in the L-methionine biosynthetic pathway, where ARD protein catalyzes the conversion of (S)-methyl-5-thio-alpha-D-ribose 1-phosphate to L-methionine using nickel as a cofactor. L-methionine serves as a building block for proteins and is involved in various metabolic processes, including methylation reactions that regulate gene expression and protein function. ARD protein interacts with matrix metalloproteinase MT-MMP-1, suggesting a potential role in modulating cell migration, which is crucial in processes such as wound healing and cancer metastasis. Multiple isoforms of ARD protein exist due to alternative splicing, contributing to functional diversity and regulatory mechanisms within different tissues.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-398325 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
