Arc Antibody (C-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody designed to target the Arc protein, also known as activity-regulated cytoskeleton-associated protein or Arg3.1, by recognizing amino acids 1-300 of the human Arc protein. Anti-Arc antibody (C-7) can detect Arc across multiple species, including mouse, rat, and human, and is suitable for various applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The Arc protein is a critical immediate early gene involved in synaptic plasticity, learning, and memory, playing a pivotal role in regulating the cytoskeleton and modulating synaptic strength in response to neuronal activity. Arc expression is rapidly induced by growth factors and neurotransmitters, facilitating long-term cellular responses and neuroplastic changes essential for cognitive functions. Arc is predominantly localized in neuronal cell bodies and dendrites within key brain regions like the hippocampus, amygdala, hypothalamus, striatum, and cortex, where Arc interacts with F-Actin and other actin-associated proteins to influence dendritic spine morphology and synaptic efficacy. Arc (C-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated form and various conjugated variants, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatile tools for diverse experimental setups. Additionally, Arc expression has been linked to responses to stimuli such as cocaine, underscoring Arc′s role in activity-dependent gene regulation and potential implications in neurological disorders. Arc monoclonal antibody (C-7) enables researchers to thoroughly investigate the dynamic regulation of Arc protein in various biological contexts, thereby advancing our understanding of neural plasticity and related pathologies.
