Datasheets
  • Androgen Receptor Antibody (AN1-15) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a, cited in 3 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • raised against a 241 amino acid fusion protein derived from AR of human origin
  • Anti-Androgen Receptor Antibody (AN1-15) is recommended for detection of AR of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP and IF; non cross-reactive with estrogen, progesterone or glucocorticoid receptors
  • Anti-Androgen Receptor Antibody (AN1-15) is available conjugated to agarose for IP; and to either phycoerythrin or FITC for IF, IHC(P) and FCM
  • also available conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 488, Alexa Fluor® 546, Alexa Fluor® 594 or Alexa Fluor® 647 for WB (RGB), IF, IHC(P) and FCM, and for use with RGB fluorescent imaging systems, such as iBright™ FL1000, FluorChem™, Typhoon, Azure and other comparable systems
  • also available conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 680 or Alexa Fluor® 790 for WB (NIR), IF and FCM; for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR®Odyssey®, iBright™ FL1000, FluorChem™, Typhoon, Azure and other comparable systems
  • At present, we have not yet completed the identification of the preferred secondary detection reagent(s) for Androgen Receptor Antibody (AN1-15). This work is in progress.

AR Antibody (AN1-15) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects androgen receptor (AR) protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-AR antibody (AN1-15) is available in both conjugated and non-conjugated forms, providing flexibility for various experimental needs. AR (AN1-15) monoclonal antibody recognizes AR protein, which plays a crucial role in mediating the effects of androgens, such as testosterone and dihydrotestosterone, vital for the development and maintenance of male reproductive physiology and secondary sexual characteristics. Located primarily in the cytoplasm and nucleus of target cells, AR protein undergoes a conformational change upon binding to ligands, allowing translocation to the nucleus where AR regulates gene expression. Nuclear localization is essential for AR function as a transcription factor, influencing biological processes including cell growth, differentiation, and metabolism. AR interaction with specific co-regulators and other transcription factors further modulates activity, highlighting the importance of understanding cellular dynamics and interactions in both normal physiology and disease states, such as prostate cancer.

Could I know the recognized epitope? N-, C-terminal or a central region?

Asked by: pia79
Thank you for your question. This rat monoclonal was raised against a 241 amino acid fusion protein derived from AR of human origin. Unfortunately the exact epitope has not been mapped.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from the function of itWhen the antigen enters the body for the first time, it is necessary to produce antibodies through a certain incubation period, and the amount of antibody produced is not much, and the time is short in vivo.
