APPBP2 Antibody (4-RE24) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects APPBP2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-APPBP2 antibody (4-RE24) is available as a non-conjugated monoclonal isotype antibody. APPBP2 protein, also known as β-Amyloid precursor protein-binding protein 2 or protein interacting with APP tail 1 (PAT1), plays a crucial role in trafficking β-Amyloid precursor protein, which is significant in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer′s. APPBP2 is primarily located in the cytoplasm and expressed in various cell types, where APPBP2 interacts with microtubules, facilitating protein transport within the cell. APPBP2 structure contains a coiled-coil domain, multiple phosphorylation sites, and several tetratricopeptide repeats, which are essential for function in protein-protein interactions and cellular signaling pathways. APPBP2 recognizes the basolateral sorting sequence present in the cytoplasmic domain of β-Amyloid precursor protein, highlighting importance in cellular localization processes. APPBP2 has been shown to interact with the androgen receptor, playing a role in androgen signaling modulation, which can have implications in various physiological and pathological contexts.
