apoM Antibody (A-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects apoM of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-apoM antibody (A-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Apolipoprotein M (ApoM), also known as protein G3a, is a member of the Lipocalin family and plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism and cholesterol transport. ApoM is primarily located in kidney tubular epithelial cells and liver hepatocytes, where ApoM expression is vital for maintaining lipid homeostasis. The unique structure of mature ApoM, which retains a signal peptide and features a conserved eight-stranded antiparallel β-barrel, allows ApoM to bind retinol and retinoic acid effectively. This binding capability is significant as ApoM facilitates the formation of preβ-high-density lipoprotein (HDL), an essential acceptor of peripheral cellular cholesterol. ApoM concentration in plasma is closely linked to total cholesterol levels, and low plasma levels of ApoM have been associated with diabetes, highlighting ApoM′s potential as a biomarker for metabolic disorders.
