apoL1 Antibody (A-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the apoL1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). apoL1 (A-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. apoL1 plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism and is involved in the transport of lipids within the bloodstream, which is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing lipid-related diseases. Specifically, apoL1 interacts with high-density lipoproteins (HDL), facilitating the removal of excess cholesterol from peripheral tissues and transporting cholesterol to the liver for excretion. This function is particularly important for cardiovascular health, as dysregulation of lipid transport can lead to atherosclerosis and other cardiovascular diseases. The apoL gene family, which includes apoL1, is located on chromosome 22q12.1-13.1 and is characterized by TATA-less promoters and potential sterol regulatory elements, indicating a complex regulation linked to lipid metabolism pathways. With significant roles in lipid transport and metabolism, apoL1 remains a vital protein for researchers studying cardiovascular health and related disorders.
