SEE ALSO...

apoC-I Antibody (Y-13) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects apoC-I of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-apoC-I antibody (Y-13) is available as the non-conjugated isotype antibody. apoC-I plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism, particularly in the modulation of triglyceride-rich lipoproteins, which are essential for maintaining lipid homeostasis in the body. apoC-I is primarily synthesized in the liver and is activated during the differentiation of monocytes into macrophages, highlighting its importance in inflammatory responses and lipid transport. The human apoC-I gene, located on chromosome 19q13.2, is part of a gene family that includes apoC-II, apoC-III, and apoC-IV, each contributing to the regulation of lipoprotein metabolism. apoC-I interacts with other apolipoproteins and enzymes, influencing the activity of lipoprotein lipase, which is vital for the hydrolysis of triglycerides in plasma. Understanding the function and interactions of apoC-I is essential for elucidating the mechanisms underlying lipid disorders and cardiovascular diseases.

For Western Blot, is it recommended to use denatured or non-denatured conditions with apoC-I (Y-13): sc-101263 antibody?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your question. We recommend this antibody for use in denatured Western Blot conditions. It has not been validated for use in non-denatured conditions. Please contact our Technical Service Department for further details or inquiries.
