APOBEC2 Antibody (B-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects APOBEC2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). APOBEC2 (B-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. APOBEC2 protein, consisting of 224 amino acids, is a member of the cytidine and deoxycytidylate deaminase family and is primarily expressed in heart and skeletal muscle tissues. APOBEC2 localization suggests a specialized role in muscle physiology and potentially in cardiac function. While APOBEC2 is thought to function as a cytidine to uridine editing enzyme, APOBEC2 does not exhibit detectable editing activity on apolipoprotein B mRNA, unlike family member APOBEC1. APOBEC2 has been shown to possess low intrinsic cytidine deaminase activity, which may play a role in cellular processes such as RNA editing and regulation. APOBEC2′s unique expression pattern and functional characteristics make APOBEC2 an important protein for studying muscle biology and its implications in various diseases.
