SEE ALSO...

apoB Antibody (A-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects apoB in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). apoB Antibody (A-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. apoB plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism and is essential for the formation and transport of lipoproteins, which are vital for the distribution of cholesterol and triglycerides throughout the body. Two primary isoforms of apoB exist: apoB-100, synthesized in the liver and serving as a structural component of very-low-density lipoprotein particles, and apoB-48, produced in the small intestine, which is crucial for chylomicron formation. The differential expression of these isoforms results from post-transcriptional editing of a common apoB mRNA, a process regulated by the enzyme APOBEC1. This editing allows for the generation of distinct protein forms that fulfill specific physiological roles, highlighting apoB′s importance in maintaining lipid homeostasis and overall cardiovascular health.
