SEE ALSO...

apoA-IV Antibody (G-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects apoA-IV protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). apoA-IV monoclonal antibody (G-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. apoA-IV protein, encoded by the human apoA-IV gene, is a 396 amino acid preprotein that plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism. After proteolytic processing, apoA-IV is secreted from the intestine in association with chylomicron particles, where apoA-IV functions as a potent activator of lecithin cholesterol acyltransferase (LCAT), an enzyme essential for the formation of cholesteryl esters in plasma. This activation is vital for the reverse transport of cholesterol, a process that helps maintain lipid homeostasis and prevent atherosclerosis. Additionally, apoA-IV is involved in regulating appetite and energy expenditure, highlighting apoA-IV′s importance in metabolic health. apoA-IV′s ability to interact with other apolipoproteins and lipoproteins further underscores apoA-IV′s significance in cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, making anti-apoA-IV antibody (G-8) an invaluable tool for researchers studying these critical pathways.
