SEE ALSO...

APEH Antibody (G-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects APEH protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-APEH antibody (G-6) is available as the non-conjugated form. APEH, or Acyl-peptide hydrolase, is a 732 amino acid cytoplasmic protein that forms a homotetramer and plays a crucial role in the hydrolysis of N-terminal acetylated amino acids from small acetylated peptides. This enzymatic activity facilitates the recycling of amino acids and the regulation of protein turnover, which are essential processes for maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to metabolic demands. The gene encoding human APEH is located on chromosome 3, a region often deleted in various cancers, including renal cell carcinoma and small cell lung carcinoma, indicating a potential role for APEH in tumorigenesis. Chromosome 3 encompasses approximately 214 million bases and contains over 1,100 genes, including key tumor suppressor genes such as RASSF1, which mediates apoptosis, HYAL1, which regulates cell migration, and SEMA3B, an angiogenesis suppressor. APEH′s functional implications in cellular processes underscore its importance in both normal physiology and disease states, making APEH (G-6) antibody a valuable tool for research in cancer biology and protein metabolism.
