SEE ALSO...

AP-2μ1 Antibody (D-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects AP-2 mu 1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). AP-2μ1 (D-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. AP-2 mu 1, consisting of 435 amino acids, plays a crucial role in the endocytic pathway by linking Clathrin to receptors in coated vesicles, facilitating membrane protein and signaling molecule internalization. This process maintains cellular homeostasis and regulates various physiological functions, including nutrient uptake and receptor recycling. AP-2 mu 1′s location at the plasma membrane and interaction with Clathrin-coated pits underscore AP-2 mu 1′s importance in vesicle-mediated transport, which enables cellular communication and response to external stimuli. Understanding AP-2 mu 1 dynamics and associated complexes can provide insights into endocytosis mechanisms and implications in diseases where these processes are disrupted.

AP-2-µ has µ1 and µ2, does this antibody recognize µ2? Is there any structural difference between µ1 and µ2?

Asked by: JToyama
Thank you for your question. Anti-AP-2 mu 1 Antibody (D-7) is only recommended for detection of AP-2µ1 of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA.
