AP-2γ Antibody (6E4/4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects AP-2 gamma protein of mouse, rat, and human origin through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry (IHC). AP-2γ (6E4/4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase, phycoerythrin, fluorescein isothiocyanate, and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. AP-2 gamma protein, also known as TFAP2C, plays a crucial role in gene regulation by binding to specific DNA sequences, thereby initiating transcription of target genes. This function is particularly important in developmental processes and cellular differentiation, as AP-2γ is involved in the regulation of genes associated with the development of ectodermal tissues and the expression of the proto-oncogene c-ErbB-2, which is overexpressed in a significant percentage of breast cancers. AP-2γ interacts with other members of the AP-2 transcription factor family, including AP-2α and AP-2β, forming complexes that modulate gene expression in response to various signaling pathways. AP-2γ regulation of estrogen receptor expression further underscores AP-2γ importance in hormonal signaling and cancer biology, making AP-2γ a valuable tool for researchers studying these critical pathways.

Is there any data showing AP-2γ Antibody (6E4/4): sc-12762 is specific to AP-2γ?

Thank you for your question. We have Western blot data showing HeLa cells treated with siRNA to show knockdown of signal, confirming specificity to AP-2γ.
