AP-180 Antibody (B-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects AP-180 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). AP-180, also known as SNAP91, is a crucial 907 amino acid cell membrane protein that plays a significant role in receptor-mediated endocytosis by facilitating the assembly of clathrin-coated pits and vesicles. AP-180 contains an epsin N-terminal homology (ENTH) domain, which is essential for interaction with clathrin triskelia, promoting the formation of 60-70 nm coats necessary for vesicle transport. AP-180′s ability to bind clathrin ensures efficient internalization of membrane receptors and other cargo, thereby regulating various cellular processes such as nutrient uptake and signal transduction. AP-180 exists in three alternatively spliced isoforms, and AP-180′s gene is located on human chromosome 6q14.2 and mouse chromosome 9 E3.1, highlighting evolutionary conservation and importance across species.
