Anti-Cy5 Antibody (B-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Cy5 in non-species reactive applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Cy5 antibody (B-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for different experimental needs. Cy5, a member of the cyanine dye family, plays a crucial role in biomedical imaging due to its ability to emit fluorescence across a wide spectrum, from infrared to ultraviolet, which enhances the sensitivity and specificity of imaging techniques. The structural characteristics of Cy5, including its partially saturated indole nitrogen heterocyclic nucleus and the polyalkene bridge, contribute to unique optical properties, making Cy5 an invaluable tool in various applications, such as increasing the sensitivity range of photographic emulsions and facilitating the visualization of biological processes. Anti-Cy5 antibody (B-2) can be utilized in a linker system to bind cyanine dyes, allowing for the development of advanced imaging techniques that can target specific enzymes at their active sites, thereby enhancing the overall efficacy of experimental protocols.
