ANO2 Antibody (D-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects ANO2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ANO2 (D-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ANO2, also known as TMEM16B or C12orf3, is a 1,003 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein that plays a crucial role as a calcium-activated chloride channel (CaCC), particularly in the retina where ANO2 is predominantly expressed in photoreceptor synaptic terminals. This localization is vital for amplifying light perception, which is essential for visual processing. Mutations in ANO2 can lead to von Willebrand disease type 3, a serious inherited disorder affecting platelet adhesion, highlighting ANO2′s importance in both cellular function and human health. ANO2 is located on chromosome 12, a region associated with various genetic disorders, and has two isoforms resulting from alternative splicing, which may contribute to functional diversity.
