Ankyrin B Antibody (2.20) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Ankyrin B protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-Ankyrin B antibody (2.20) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Ankyrin B plays a crucial role in maintaining the structural integrity of neurons by anchoring integral membrane proteins to the cytoskeleton, which is vital for proper neuronal signaling and function. Ankyrin B (2.20) monoclonal antibody is predominantly localized in the plasma membrane of neurons and glial cells, where Ankyrin B interacts with the spectrin-actin cytoskeletal network. This localization is essential for the stabilization of axon bundles and the coordinated assembly of key ion transporters, such as the Na/Ca exchanger and Na/K ATPase, at critical sites in cardiomyocytes. Alternative splicing of Ankyrin B results in multiple isoforms, further diversifying functional roles in cellular processes. The importance of Ankyrin B in neuronal function and interactions with other proteins underscore significance in both health and disease, making anti-Ankyrin B antibody (2.20) a valuable tool for researchers studying neuronal dynamics and related pathologies.

I am using the LiCor/Odyssey system. Which secondary antibody do you recommend using with Ankyrin B (2.20): sc-12718 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins (m-IgGλ) conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety
