ANKRD50 Antibody (B-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects ANKRD50 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ANKRD50, a 1,429 amino acid phosphoprotein characterized by nineteen ankyrin repeats, plays a crucial role in cellular signaling and structural integrity by serving as a scaffold that links integral membrane proteins to the spectrin-based cytoskeleton network. This interaction maintains cell shape and facilitates communication between the cell membrane and cytoskeleton, which is essential for various cellular processes, including cell adhesion, migration, and division. Mutations in ankyrin genes can lead to severe genetic disorders, underscoring ANKRD50′s importance in human health. The gene encoding ANKRD50 is located on human chromosome 4q28.1, a region associated with several critical genes linked to various diseases, including the Huntingtin gene implicated in Huntington′s disease. ANKRD50′s conservation across multiple species, including chimpanzees, dogs, and zebrafish, highlights fundamental biological significance. With an ability to facilitate essential cellular functions, ANKRD50 is a key player in the intricate network of cellular interactions, making anti-ANKRD50 antibody (B-11) an invaluable tool for researchers studying cellular roles in health and disease.
