SEE ALSO...

Angiomotin Antibody (B-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Angiomotin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Angiomotin antibody (B-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Angiomotin, also known as AMOT, is a significant 1,084 amino acid protein belonging to the motin family of angiostatin-binding proteins, characterized by conserved coiled-coil domains and PDZ binding motifs at their C-termini. Angiomotin is primarily expressed in skeletal muscle and placenta, where Angiomotin localizes to the cell surface at tight junctions, playing a crucial role in maintaining these structures. Angiomotin′s interaction with angiostatin is vital for angiogenesis, as Angiomotin promotes tubule formation and enhances the migration of endothelial cells in response to growth factors. This function underscores Angiomotin′s potential as a key player in tumor angiogenesis, making Angiomotin a promising therapeutic target in cancer treatment. Due to alternative splicing, Angiomotin exists in two isoforms, p130 and p80, with the p130 isoform exhibiting a distinct expression pattern and the ability to interact with F-actin, thereby inducing actin fiber formation, which is essential for various cellular processes.

Can I use this mouse monoclonal antibody for immunohistochemical staining of mouse tissue? Or even double or triple staining on the same samples?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. Yes. We recommend using a directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibody. This antibody is currently available conjugated to phycoerythrin (sc-166924 PE), fluorescein (sc-166924 FITC), Alexa Fluor® 488 (sc-166924 AF488) or Alexa Fluor® 647 (sc-166924 AF647. Please contact Technical Service if you have further questions concerning this product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Work specifically. Yet not so good. This anti-AMOT works with mouse preimplantation embryos in IF application (1:1000 dilutions). It is specific. However, it is not consistent in repeated trials or each embryo from the same batch of samples.
