Amphiphysin II Antibody (2F11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Amphiphysin II protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-Amphiphysin II antibody (2F11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Amphiphysin II is a crucial protein predominantly found in the brain, where Amphiphysin II plays a vital role in synaptic vesicle recycling. Amphiphysin II functions as a dimer and features a membrane-bending BAR domain, a middle domain for Clathrin and adaptor binding, and a C-terminal SH3 domain. The interaction between Amphiphysin II and the GTPase Dynamin is essential for synaptic vesicle recycling, as Amphiphysin II facilitates Dynamin binding to Clathrin-coated pits, leading to vesicle budding. Amphiphysin II is also involved in membrane curvature stabilization in various tissues, highlighting Amphiphysin II′s importance beyond neuronal function. A splice variant of Amphiphysin II, which lacks Clathrin or adaptor interactions, is highly expressed in muscle tissue and is critical for T tubule network formation and stabilization, underscoring Amphiphysin II′s diverse roles in cellular architecture and function.
