Datasheets
  • AMCase Antibody (E-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgM κ AMCase antibody provided at 200 µg/ml
  • raised against amino acids 168-214 mapping within an internal region of AMCase of human origin
  • recommended for detection of AMCase of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA
  • m-IgGκ BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for AMCase Antibody (E-11) for WB and IHC(P) applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with AMCase Antibody (E-11) (see ordering information below). For additional m-IgGκ BP conjugates see our complete list of Mouse IgG Binding Proteins.

AMCase Antibody (E-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects AMCase protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-AMCase antibody (E-11) is available as the non-conjugated form. Acidic mammalian chitinase precursor (AMCase) plays a crucial role in degrading chitin and chitooligosaccharides, which are important for immune response against chitin-containing pathogens. AMCase (E-11) antibody recognizes a protein predominantly expressed in the stomach, where AMCase contributes to dietary chitin breakdown, facilitating nutrient absorption and maintaining gut health. AMCase is secreted into the extracellular space, where AMCase can interact with various substrates, highlighting AMCase importance in both digestive processes and potential therapeutic applications in conditions such as asthma and allergic diseases, where Th2-mediated inflammation is a factor. AMCase ability to modulate immune responses makes AMCase a significant target for research into chitinase-related disorders and therapies.

I am using AMCase (E-11): sc-365676 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

    Asked by: jenniferc
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
