    SEE ALSO...

AMAP-1 Antibody (E-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects AMAP-1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). AMAP-1 (E-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. AMAP-1, also known as AMY-1-binding protein 1, AMAM-1, or MYCBPAP (MYCBP associated protein), consists of 947 amino acids and is predominantly expressed in the testis, where AMAP-1 plays a crucial role in spermatogenesis and synaptic processes. AMAP-1 interacts with MYCBP (AMY-1) and is localized in the cytoplasm as well as at the membrane, highlighting AMAP-1′s importance in cellular signaling pathways. The gene encoding AMAP-1 is located on human chromosome 17, a region comprising over 2.5% of the human genome and encoding more than 1,200 genes, with significant association to tumor suppressor genes such as p53 and BRCA1. p53 is essential for maintaining cellular genetic integrity by regulating cell fate decisions between DNA repair and apoptosis, while BRCA1 is recognized for DNA repair functions and association with hereditary breast and ovarian cancers. AMAP-1′s interactions may provide insights into molecular mechanisms underlying these critical biological processes and their implications in cancer biology.
