QUICK LINKS

ALX-1393 is an inhibitor of the glycine transporter GlyT2. ALX-1393 is recognized for its selective antagonistic effects on the glycine site of the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor. The NMDA receptor is a critical ion channel in the central nervous system that plays a pivotal role in synaptic transmission and plasticity. Glycine, a co-agonist along with glutamate for the NMDA receptor, binds to a specific site that is necessary for the receptor′s activation. By inhibiting this site, ALX-1393 modulates the receptor′s activity.
