    SEE ALSO...

Alsin Antibody (2J10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the Alsin protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Alsin antibody (2J10) is available as the non-conjugated form. Alsin, encoded by the ALS2 gene, plays a crucial role as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor for Rab5, which is essential for regulating the endocytic pathway. This function is particularly important as it facilitates the internalization of various molecules into the cell, thereby influencing cellular uptake and signaling processes. Mutations in the ALS2 gene are linked to several juvenile recessive motor neuron diseases, including juvenile primary lateral sclerosis, infantile onset ascending hereditary spastic paralysis, and a form of complicated hereditary spastic paraplegia. Alsin is predominantly located in the cytosol and is associated with small, punctate membrane structures, suggesting involvement in membrane transport events and the remodeling of the actin cytoskeleton. Additionally, the ALS2 C-terminal-like protein (ALS2CL) has been identified as a modulator of Rab5 activity, further underscoring the significance of Alsin in cellular dynamics.
