SEE ALSO...

αPIX Antibody (2E5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects αPIX protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-αPIX antibody (2E5) is available as the non-conjugated form. αPIX protein plays a crucial role in cellular signaling as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) for Rac, a member of the Rho family of GTPases, which is essential for regulating actin cytoskeleton dynamics and cell motility. This function is particularly important in processes such as lamellipodia formation, which are critical for cell migration and tissue development. The interaction of αPIX with p21 activated kinase (PAK) is vital for the localization and activation of PAK in the Cdc42 to Rac signaling pathway, highlighting the intricate network of protein interactions that govern cellular responses to external stimuli. Additionally, αPIX exists in two isoforms, α and β, both of which are highly expressed in human and rat heart, muscle, and thymus tissues, underscoring their significance in various physiological processes. The phosphorylation of αPIX through pathways such as platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) and EphB2 receptor signaling further modulates its activity, making αPIX a key player in cellular signaling cascades.
