α2B-AR Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects α2B-adrenergic receptor (α2B-AR) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). α2B-AR is a member of the G protein-coupled receptor superfamily and plays a pivotal role in the regulation of neurotransmitter release from sympathetic nerves and adrenergic neurons in the central nervous system. α2B-AR′s structure consists of seven transmembrane domains that facilitate interaction with G proteins, allowing mediation of various physiological responses, including vasoconstriction and modulation of blood pressure. α2B-AR can couple with Gi-proteins, which are crucial for inducing salt-dependent hypertension in response to catecholamines. The carboxy-terminal cytoplasmic domain of α2B-AR associates with several proteins, including the guanine nucleotide exchange factor eIF-2B, highlighting α2B-AR′s role in intracellular signaling pathways. The abundance of α2B-AR transcripts in rat liver and kidney further underscores α2B-AR′s significance in physiological processes, making anti-α2B-AR antibody (C-4) an essential tool for researchers studying adrenergic signaling and its implications in health and disease.
