SEE ALSO...

α-sarcoglycan Antibody (D-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects α-sarcoglycan of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). α-sarcoglycan (D-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. α-sarcoglycan plays a crucial role in the integrity of the dystrophin-glycoprotein complex, which is essential for maintaining the structural stability of muscle cell membranes. α-sarcoglycan is primarily located in the cell membrane of skeletal, cardiac, and smooth muscle fibers, where α-sarcoglycan interacts with other sarcoglycan subunits—β-, γ-, and δ-sarcoglycan—to form a functional complex. Disruption of this complex due to genetic mutations can lead to severe muscle disorders, such as sarcoglycanopathy, characterized by muscle weakness and degeneration. Additionally, α-sarcoglycan′s interaction with ε-sarcoglycan in smooth muscle highlights α-sarcoglycan′s importance in muscle function and pathology. Anti-α-sarcoglycan antibody (D-7) provides researchers with a valuable tool for studying these critical interactions and the underlying mechanisms of muscular dystrophies.

I have recently purchased sc-271321 HRP antibody for WB. It is conjugated to HRP. so I skipped secondary antibody and directly probed by chemiluminescent substrate. NO signal shows up. Please send the protocol of sc-271321 HRP to me. Thanks

Not super critical but I am curious. What is the distinction between the alpha sarcoglycan antibodies on your site that are the D-7, F-7 and C-12?

Asked by: jwilborn
Thank you for your question. The main difference between these three antibodies is their respective binding sites: amino acids 24-105 (h), 363-382 (h), and 43-68 (h). On top of that, the are different isotypes (IgG1 κ, IgG2a κ, and IgG2a λ) and only the F-7 clone is recommended for use in IHC(P) applications.
