ALKBH2 Antibody (C-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ALKBH2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ALKBH2 (C-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ALKBH2, also known as alkB, alkylation repair homolog 2, consists of 261 amino acids and is primarily localized in the nucleus, where ALKBH2 plays a crucial role in the repair of alkylated DNA and RNA. ALKBH2 is essential for maintaining genomic stability, as ALKBH2 specifically targets and repairs damaged nucleobases, such as 1-methyladenine and 3-methylcytosine, which can arise from environmental factors or cellular metabolism. ALKBH2 utilizes iron as a cofactor and is functionally activated by ascorbate, requiring oxygen and α-ketoglutarate for enzymatic activity. The gene encoding ALKBH2 is located on human chromosome 12, a region associated with various genetic disorders, including hypochondrogenesis and Noonan syndrome, highlighting ALKBH2′s importance in both cellular function and human health.
