SEE ALSO...

TNAP Antibody (D-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects tissue non-specific alkaline phosphatase (TNAP) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TNAP is a crucial enzyme that plays a significant role in bone mineralization, functioning alongside plasma cell membrane glycoprotein-1 to facilitate the deposition of minerals in the bone matrix. This process is vital for maintaining bone integrity and strength, and any disruption can lead to serious skeletal disorders. Notably, mutations or deficiencies in the TNAP gene are directly associated with hypophosphatasia, a rare genetic condition characterized by impaired bone mineralization and various skeletal abnormalities. TNAP is widely expressed in tissues such as the liver, kidney, and bone, highlighting TNAP′s importance in physiological processes across different organ systems. The human gene encoding TNAP is located on chromosome 1p36.1-p34, and understanding TNAP′s function and interactions is essential for elucidating the mechanisms underlying bone health and disease. Anti-TNAP antibody (D-3) provides a reliable tool for researchers investigating the role of this enzyme in various biological contexts.

To Santa Cruz, I have purchased the antibody for tissue non-specific Alkaline Phosphatase (TNAP) (D-3, sc-137213), and I can detect two bands between 70Kda and 100 Kda. I would like to know which one would be in fact the one corresponding to TNALP.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with TNAP (D-3): sc-137213 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
