ALF Antibody (24) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ALF protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ALF antibody (24) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ALF protein, also known as TFIIA α/β like factor or GTF2A1L, is a crucial nuclear and cytoplasmic protein predominantly expressed in haploid spermatids within the testis. ALF (24) monoclonal antibody plays a significant role in spermatogenesis as a transcription factor, functioning as a germ cell-specific paralog of the large α/β subunit of TFIIA. ALF protein interacts with the smaller TFIIA subunit, TFIIA-γ, to stabilize the binding of TATA-binding protein (TBP) to DNA, specifically at the TATA box, thereby forming a TBP/ALF/TATA complex that is essential for mediating gene transcription. Low expression levels of ALF protein have been linked to abnormal spermatogenesis and male infertility, highlighting its critical role in the proper functioning of spermatogenic cells. Additionally, the transcriptional regulation of ALF protein is influenced by DNA methylation, which adds another layer of complexity to its function in reproductive biology.
