AKR1A1 Antibody (E-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects AKR1A1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-AKR1A1 antibody (E-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. AKR1A1, also known as aldo-keto reductase family 1 member A1, aldehyde reductase, dihydrodiol dehydrogenase 3, or alcohol dehydrogenase, is a crucial enzyme in the aldo-keto reductase family, which consists of soluble NADPH-dependent oxidoreductases. These enzymes are vital for the metabolism of drugs, carcinogens, and reactive aldehydes, highlighting their importance in detoxification processes. AKR1A1 primarily functions as a monomer and is particularly efficient in catalyzing the reduction of medium-chain and aromatic aldehydes to their corresponding alcohols.
