AKAP 10 Antibody (C-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects AKAP 10 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). AKAP 10 (C-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. AKAP 10 protein, also known as PRKA10 or D-AKAP2, is a 662 amino acid mitochondrial membrane protein that plays a crucial role in cellular signaling by anchoring protein kinase A (PKA) to specific cellular locations. This localization allows PKA to phosphorylate target proteins effectively, thereby regulating various cellular processes, including apoptosis. AKAP 10 interacts with both type I and II regulatory subunits of PKA, facilitating their attachment to the plasma membrane or mitochondria. When PKA is anchored to the mitochondria, PKA can phosphorylate the pro-apoptotic protein Bad, leading to Bad′s inactivation and suggesting that AKAP 10 plays a significant role in modulating apoptosis. AKAP 10 may also be involved in G-protein coupled signal transduction and could serve as an adaptor in the assembly of multiprotein complexes, highlighting AKAP 10′s importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and signaling pathways.
