AGP-1 Antibody (29A1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects AGP-1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). AGP-1 (29A1) antibody is available as the non-conjugated form. AGP-1, also known as α1-acid glycoprotein, is a crucial acute phase plasma protein synthesized in the liver, playing a significant role in the body′s response to inflammation and infection. AGP-1 is involved in regulating the interaction between blood cells and endothelial cells, which is vital for maintaining vascular integrity and facilitating the movement of immune cells to sites of injury or infection. AGP-1 expression is notably induced by acute-phase stimulatory agents, such as bacterial lipopolysaccharides, and plasma levels typically range from 0.5 to 1.4 mg/ml, increasing significantly during acute inflammatory responses. This elevation makes AGP-1 a valuable biomarker for diagnosing inflammatory conditions. Additionally, AGP-1 and AGP-2 possess multiple potential N-glycosylation sites, which are important for stability and function. Abnormal expression of AGP-1 has been linked to various immunogenetic diseases, including sarcoidosis, while mutations in AGP-2 are associated with different types of carcinomas, highlighting the clinical relevance in disease pathology.
