SEE ALSO...

aggrecan Antibody (4F4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the aggrecan protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. anti-aggrecan antibody (4F4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. aggrecan protein is a large chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan that plays a crucial role in maintaining the structural integrity and resilience of cartilage. aggrecan protein is primarily located in the extracellular matrix of cartilage, where aggrecan forms aggregates with hyaluronan and link proteins, contributing to the tissue′s compressive strength and ability to withstand mechanical stress. This localization is vital for proper cartilage functioning, as aggrecan interacts with collagen fibers, providing necessary support and cushioning in joints. Notably, aggrecan degradation is often associated with various forms of inflammatory arthritis, leading to cartilage damage and loss, which underscores the significance of monitoring aggrecan levels in clinical settings.
